Cyber Crime

To meet what has been seen as a growing threat, the legislation surrounding technology and criminal activity has seen a significant degree of development, with further developments likely.

This has resulted in an increasingly sophisticated set of rules and regulations that seek to govern the activity that comes under the umbrella of ‘Cyber-Crime’.

The umbrella term of Cyber Crime, refers to any kind of criminal activity that is, or perhaps can be, committed through the use of a computer, accordingly, there may well be a degree of cross over with other offences, such as sexual offences in terms of ‘revenge porn’.

Cyber Crime offences can often become exceptionally complicated given that they are not limited by a countries borders and as a consequence, there is often involvement of the National Crime Agency, and further, foreign investigatory bodies.

Matters can therefore become exceptionally complex, and are likely to become more so given that it is a dynamic area of law that is constantly evolving and changing to meet the changing needs of law enforcement.

Whoever you choose to represent you should not only understand the offences themselves, but have experience in cross border and international investigations.
